Landscapes of Self-Reflection

This series of work revolves around my personal experience of self-reflection and the major steps and qualities involved in the process. Using colour, reflection, and a shallow depth of field, the abstract compositions attempt to embody in a visual way what introspection means to me. The geographical descriptions lend each psychological phenomenon a physical dimension in which the natural world becomes a metaphor for our mind, and self-reflection for the forces that shape the natural world.

My Rhythms

In these self-portraits I explored Gabriel Roth’s movement meditation practice called 5 Rhythms: flowing, staccato, chaos, lyrical, and stillness. 5 Rhythms is a powerful framework for self-development and creative self-expression which is practiced internationally by thousands of people following the guidance of the body and the facilitator. The dance reaches far beyond mere performance as each movement is filled with multiple layers of meaning.

5 Rhythms has transformed my life over the past 8 years by giving me a space where I can be fully myself and a community where I can feel safe and loved without having to say a single word. My aim was to capture the unique states that my mind and body enter when I immerse myself in the dance.
